Marija Kovandžić is a trained medical doctor and a published author in the fields of social medicine and medical sociology. She has been exploring complexities, labyrinths and power struggles related to health and health care for more than one decade, mainly looking at integrative public health and primary health care, access to care, mental health, and medical pluralism. Marija’s current academic interests and explorations predominantly revolve around communities of innovators, and health-makers, in the context of the places of resistance to de-humanised technologies of care.
Since pushed out of neo-liberal academia, Marija decided to start teaching yoga as a way to keep contributing to improving human condition, and a way to continue living with integrity.
